Every door is marked
The House writes dark — that’s the point. But no reader should walk into a room blind. Here’s how the warnings work, wing by wing.
The heat scale
Five flames, no surprises
Every book in the House carries a flame rating on its page. The scale runs from slow-burn tension to the rooms Max keeps locked.
Simmer. Tension, suspense, closed or barely-open doors.
Burn. Explicit, on the page, dark themes handled openly.
Inferno. Extreme, taboo, unflinching — Max’s wing. Read the full list first.
Every individual book lists its own specific warnings on its page. The lists below describe each wing as a whole.
Wing by wing
Know which door you’re opening

Quinn Slater
MC · Romantic Suspense · Dark Romance
Expect on-page violence, organized crime, kidnapping and captivity themes, morally gray heroes, and explicit open-door romance. Danger is real and consequences land — but the romance plays fair.

Kane Daemon
Dark Fantasy · Power Dynamics
Expect demons, hell settings, graphic fantasy violence, corrupted institutions, blood and body horror, and dark ritual themes woven through explicit romance. The supernatural here bites.

Max Street
Extreme · Taboo
This wing is deliberately extreme: taboo relationships, non-consent themes, graphic violence, degradation, and content many readers should skip. Every Max book carries its full, specific list — read it before you buy. If you knock, knock meaning it.
